Aria Hotel was absolutely breathtaking, and I cannot wait to return again. The hotel smells of vanilla- yum! Very modern and contemporary decor, the staff was helpful and friendly, maid service and room service was amazing- I honestly did not meet one unpleasant staff person at the hotel. A few minor complaints I have are: the in-room refrigerator. No visible signs are posted, and you'll only know this if you read the information booklets in the room. There are sensors in the fridge that detect when you pick up a coke (or other items, there are tons of drinks/snacks/etc. in the fridge)- and you will most probably be charged for a coke even though you simply picked it up and looked at it. For instance, my mom picked up and looked at every single item in the fridge! And we had to call the front desk and clear it up so we wouldn't be charged for these items. We were in such a hurry checking out that I sent my mom downstairs to check out, and after we got on the plane did I have a chance to read over the receipt- and I was indeed charged for items that we did not drink/eat- so be very careful of this! The other complaint is that you cannot hail a cab directly outside the hotel- this is where drop-offs are. You must walk a semi-circle and hail a cab from across the street. Nothing major- but a little inconvenient. Other than this, the hotel was amazing. The room is controlled via a touch screen control panel on the side table by the bed- curtains, lighting, Tv, temperature, etc. Very modern concept but I love it. The bathroom was the best part!

Overall, our stay at Aria was very positive, and I will consider the hotel in the future. The architecture and interior design is different from all other Las Vegas hotels - there is no "theme", and everything is quite modern and relatively subdued by Las Vegas standards. I personally prefer the Aria look & feel to, say, Bellagio (very high-end "classic" LV hotel) or Caesar's (high-end "theme" hotel). The hotel layout is very non-linear and it takes a few wrong turns to get familiar with it. Recommend using Bar Moderno/Jean-Philippe Patisserie as a landmark for navigation. 4-star (or maybe 3!) niggles: room doors are rough-sanded plain wood and painted flat brown with scuff-marks (from housekeeping carts, I assume) the norm. Very Motel-6. Bathroom sinks would not drain properly even at a medium fill from the low-flow fixtures. Air pump in bubble-tub (not really a jacuzzi tub; no water jets) would come on at random times, once about 15 minutes *after* we had gotten out and drained the tub. Smears of dried tile grout on tile faces (poor workmanship by tile layers). Remote-control room is neat idea, but remote's user interface could use some work. "Room off" button on the "Bedroom Lighting" screen turned off all lights in all rooms, both TV's (one in the other room), and closed all curtains. Huh? I just wanted all the lights off! Non-smoking room smelt distinctly of smoke; front desk said "it's hard for us to tell if people violate the rules". Again, huh? Housekeeping should smell smoke pretty clearly when cleaning. We certainly did. They did deodorize the room at our request and it was better after that.

I stayed at this hotel for a week and had a wonderful time. The beds were the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on (like sleeping in a cloud), the technology was neat, and the employees gracious, kind, and helpful. Yes, some annoying things like you had to pay extra to have a refrigerator in your room or to use the fitness facility, but overall it was great. I even had a question about my stay a month later and I called, and with no problem or annoyance, my question was answered. I would totally stay here again.
